Can the Consumption of Ultra-Processed Food Be Associated with Anthropometric Indicators of Obesity and Blood Pressure in Children 7 to 10 Years Old?

Goal

Investigate the association between consumption of food according to the degree of processing and anthropometric indicators of obesity and blood pressure in children.

Results

The avereage energy consumption was 1762.76 kcal.day - 45.42% was unprocessed or minimally process, 10.88% was culinary ingredients, and 43.7% was ultra-processed food. Consumption of unprocessed or minimally procesed foods was inversely related to diastolic blood proessure. No relationship was found between caloric contricution of food groups and BMI, WC, WHtR, and systolic blood pressure.
