Consumption of ultra-processed foods is associated with obesity, diabetes and hypertension in Canadian adults

goal

Assess the association between consumption of UPF and obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

Results

The average UPF intake in the highests tertile was 73% and the avergae UPF intake in the lowest tertile was 24%. I the highest tertile, participants had 31% higher odds of obesity, 27% higher odds of diabetes, and 60% higher odds of hypertension.
