Sara is a first-year master's student in the nutrition department of the Université de Montréal. Her research interests focus on nutrition in public health and more specifically on the eating habits of newcomers. It aims to better understand the links between acculturation and eating behaviors within this population.

Through her master's project, she seeks to understand the impact of food acculturation on the level of consumption of ultra-processed foods among newcomers to Canada using data from the Community Health Survey. (CCHS) 2015 - Nutrition. In addition, the project will assess the perceptions and experiences of different ethnocultural groups regarding the dietary changes that have occurred since their arrival. The goal is to better understand this food transition and thus better intervene with these different ethnocultural communities in Canada.

Sara holds an honors degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Ottawa. She currently works as a nutrition consultant at Nutrition d'ici et d'ailleurs-Marianne Lefebvre on a part-time basis. She accompanies a culturally diverse clientele by supporting various businesses in the marketing of food products, but also develops culinary workshops and writes articles for the general public. She is also a research and teaching assistant in the nutrition department of the Université de Montréal.
